English Draughts (Checkers) Online

English Draughts (Checkers) is a popular variant of draughts common in English-speaking countries. Played on an 8×8 board with 12 pieces per player. Regular pieces move diagonally forward one square and capture only forward. A king moves one square diagonally forward or backward, and when capturing also moves only one square, not any distance as in Russian draughts. Capturing is mandatory. When multiple capture options exist, the player chooses any, but in the chosen variant must capture all available pieces. If a regular piece reaches the last row during a capture, it becomes a king and stops, even if it could continue capturing.

Differences from Russian Draughts

Regular pieces capture only forward (not backward). Kings move and capture only one square, not any distance. If a regular piece becomes a king during a capture, it stops and cannot continue capturing in the same turn.
